Employer of Choice
Being an Employer of Choice is of paramount importance to the management team at MiniMovers. For Owner Mike O'Hagan and his four senior managers, Colin Newman and Nick Crethar, it simply means being a company where everyone who works here WANTS to come to work. It also means that our recruitment strategies encourage people who are looking for a workplace that will treat them right, give them a flexible working week, excellent award-winning training and a career path. As a result, both personal and professional growth is not only achievable but actively encouraged and this has always been the attitude at MiniMovers, who celebrated their 20th birthday in August 2005.
Whether it is the hot breakfast supplied free each morning to staff, the encouragement of operators to move from Trainee to Accredited Operator with unlimited support and encouragement so that they can earn much higher remuneration, the awards for achievement every step of the way along the MiniMovers career path or their friendly caring attitude - it is all these things that make MiniMovers an Employer of Choice

To give really outstanding Customer Service, you have to EXCEED the EXPECTATION.
- Give that EXTRA bit
- Be very helpful, cure all their problems ALWAYS
GOAL: to create ecstatically Happy Customers, for today's customer gives us tomorrow's income.
It seems in today’s "money orientated" environment, companies base all the important decisions on money, customer satisfaction and profit, to the detriment of staff morale or satisfaction. It is refreshing to work for a Company where staff issues are right up on the same level as customer satisfaction. Whilst many other "leading edge" companies are removing even the most basic facilities such as tea and coffee from their staff kitchens, MiniMovers just keeps leading the way in improving staff development, morale and conditions.
The first Melbourne depot opened in November 2004 and the first Sydney depot in December 2007 and their growth is exceeding all expectations. As each depot opens, it is paramount that all the groundwork has been done to ensure the very unique MiniMovers' "Workplace Culture" doesn't change. The training system incorporates many parts of this culture and each month at the "Special" breakfast a different subject is introduced. Education is the way to stop any “bad” practises entering a company. Knowing what the MiniMovers' acceptable standards are is a good way of ensuring they stay high.
Whilst last month’s subject was “Maintaining a happy and harassment free workplace” which in a nutshell is about “working together”, “respect for each other” and “exceeding each other’s expectations”, this month the theme was "helping a team-mate".
